12.Pablo Picasso

Picasso…

Well this artist had to be on the list of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, well of all time if im honest …For he is one of the artist that changed the face of art.

Blue Period (1901–1904) Included various shades of blue’s and greens and many other warm colours.

Rose Period (1904–1906) Known as a more ‘happy’ stylised era with fruity femine colours such as orange and pink to which it featured many circus, acrobats and harlequins.

African-influenced Period (1907–1909) The period started with the famous painting which happens to be my favourite of Picasso’s which is titled ‘Les Demoiselles d’Avignon’, which were inspired by African artifacts… I did not know this before I researched about this specific painting, for I originally thought it was about the prostitutes of Paris… Also you can see the development of his style from the start in 1901 to the transformation into the ‘cubism’ phase.

Analytic cubism (1909–1912) This is his style of painting that he developed with Georges Braque which meant using colours such as browns, monochrome and other neutral colours.
